Welcome to El Silencio Standard Poodles Hello, My name is Manuela Klecz and I own a farm in the northern parts of West Virginia. For over 28 years, I have bred Pure Spanish Horses (Pura Raza Espanola) for breeding and show. I have achieved many National Champion and Grand Champion titles. Over the years, many people came to trust our breeding program and purchased young horses to turn them into Champions as well. After dedicating many years of hard work to my farm, I have decided to retire from breeding horses and to open a new chapter in life. With my fondness for Standard Poodles, I have made the obvious choice to start breeding and showcasing this magnificent breed. My objective is to continue breeding animals of the same high quality as our horses. When adopting a puppy from me, I strive to make it a pleasant experience for everyone involved. All of my puppies are raised in my home, and I believe that daily interactions are vital for their development. At only a few days old, I apply Early Neurological Stimulation to aid in their development, followed by the Puppy Culture Protocol and Baxter & Bella to ensure proper mental growth. At El Silencio, we take pride in breeding healthy, happy, and well-tempered puppies. We also conduct genetic testing to ensure that our breeding dogs are free from any genetic health issues that may be passed down to their offspring. Once we have selected our breeding stock, we carefully plan each breeding to ensure that we are producing the best possible puppies. We work with a team of experienced veterinarians and breeders to make sure that every step of the breeding process is done correctly. We monitor our breeding dogs closely throughout the pregnancy to ensure that they are healthy and happy. When the puppies are born, we continue to provide the highest level of care. Our puppies are raised in a clean and safe environment and receive regular veterinary check-ups to ensure that they are healthy. We also start socializing our puppies at a young age to ensure that they are well-adjusted and confident dogs. We take great pride in raising puppies with the utmost care and dedication to their health and development. Here is some general information about the puppies we raise: Health and Genetic Testing: All of our breeding dogs undergo genetic health testing and have passing OFA Hip and Elbow ratings to ensure that we are producing strong, healthy puppies. Environment and Litters: Our puppies are born and raised in a nurturing home environment, with only a few carefully planned litters each year to ensure that each puppy receives the attention and care they deserve. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Puppy Culture Protocol: We introduce our puppies to ENS just a few days after birth and continue handling them daily. As they grow, we follow the Puppy Culture Protocol to introduce them to new experiences, helping them develop into confident, happy, and intelligent dogs. Grooming: Starting at two weeks of age, our puppies are bathed and blow-dried to familiarize them with grooming routines. We also shave their faces, feet, and sanitary areas at four, six, and eight weeks. Dewclaw Removal and Tail Docking: Our veterinarian performs dewclaw removal and long tail docking procedures for our puppies right here in our home. Vaccinations and Deworming: Puppies receive their first vaccinations and are on a bi-weekly deworming schedule to ensure optimal health. Health Guarantee and Support: We offer a 12-month health guarantee on our puppies and lifelong support for their new families. Ready for Their Forever Homes: Puppies are ready to join their forever homes at eight weeks old. Before leaving, our veterinarian will perform a general health checkup. Puppy Pack: Each puppy will go home with a puppy pack containing food, toys, a blanket with their mother's scent, a sample of NuVet Vitamins, and all necessary paperwork for proper AKC registration. Introducing the Whispers of Serendipity Litter Sometimes, the most beautiful moments in life are the ones we never saw coming. This litter is a true testament to faith, perseverance, and a little bit of magic. After a serious infection and weeks of unexplained bleeding, our vet told us that our beloved dam, Amber, might never be able to carry a litter again. She was treated with care and antibiotics, and the bleeding eventually stopped. Months later, she unexpectedly came back into heat. We bred her, hopeful but realistic—especially when the bleeding continued for over six weeks post-breeding. The vet was nearly certain she wasn’t pregnant and scheduled her for a spay. But fate had other plans. The day before her spay appointment, something in my heart told me to do an ultrasound—she looked pregnant to me. And to my complete surprise, she was! Just days later, on April 29th, she safely delivered ten healthy, beautiful puppies. This litter was never part of the plan—it was something even better. What is Puppy Culture? On the top level, Puppy Culture is a socialization and training program specifically developed for puppies, from birth through the end of their critical socialization period. It includes age appropriate protocols and lessons laid out in an organized format. The program consists of videos, books and a Workbook, but that really does not get to the “why” of Puppy Culture, or what makes it different! The Why of Puppy Culture Puppy Culture is based on the premise that the puppy always leads the learning, and puppies learn best by appropriate experiences at the appropriate time. So what we are doing is teaching you to observe the puppy, and, based on the behavioral markers you see, serve the puppy the experience or lesson that is optimal for him at that moment in time. Let the Puppy Lead the Learning By letting the puppy lead, we are: Maximizing the benefit of any given protocol or lesson Minimizing any danger of over-facing or scaring the puppy Creating confidence and self-efficacy by presenting the appropriate level of challenge that the puppy CAN do without failing or presenting a danger to himself. Finally, we teach owners to enjoy each puppy for the precious individual he is, and to bring out the best qualities in that puppy, rather than holding the puppy up to an arbitrary yardstick and labeling him as a problem if he does not measure up. Appropriate Experiences at the Appropriate Time Many puppies are labeled as having behavior or temperament issues when they are simply being served an inappropriate experience for their developmental age. This can hobble the puppy for the rest of his life with an unjust label that will cause people to treat him in an unthoughtful manner. By letting the puppy lead, you avoid this and enjoy your puppy for the wonderful individual that he is. So you watch the puppy and see what learning experience he’s ready for. And learning what those experiences are and how to effectively serve them is a big part of the Puppy Culture program. Why is this so important? Because things that are perfect in one developmental period could be useless or even detrimental in the next, and vice versa. So we teach you to know where your puppy is developmentally, and what to do right now. Yes, Puppy Culture is a “positive,” reinforcement-based program and we do not use corrections or outmoded dominance theory, but that is really all a by-product of observing the puppy and serving him the learning experience he is asking for. And I will add that our program is based on the latest science and studies on puppy and animal rearing, and we include many experts and authors in the film to further explain the logic of the program.
